UniteOR recently announced a partnership with us to integrate their surgical loaner tray tracking software with EHRs being used by their health system customers. UniteOR’s solution ensures critical surgery resources are available in the right place at the right time, a workflow that is historically challenging in the surgical sphere.

We are very pleased to have selected a strategic technology partner in Redox, the most elegant and innovative technology for interfacing with all major EHR platforms in the healthcare market. With the UniteOR-Redox partnership, we are the first to market in eliminating the double entry of surgery case scheduling and ensuring providers, OR and sterile processing staff, and vendors securely receive accurate case information.”

The need for solutions like UniteOR’s that support interoperability and improve efficiency for surgical workflows was echoed when we attended ASCA. There are many players involved in a surgery: physicians and support staff, pre-admission testing staff, ASC or hospital registration staff, OR scheduling staff, perioperative nurses, instrument and implant vendors, sterile processing, supply chain, and, of course, the surgeon and anesthesia provider. The list goes on, and all these individuals often work in multiple systems, which can cause patient data to be fragmented or results in duplicative documentation.

UniteOR was an early innovator in this market segment and the surgical supply chain space. Their solution ensures case information needed to initiate the surgical supply chain workflow is available when needed. By integrating with health system EHRs via Redox, the EHR’s OR scheduling system will remain the source of truth for case information, will update UniteOR’s cloud-based applications in real time, and mitigate the data integrity and security risks that can creep up when double-documentation and multiple sources of truth are required to support a workflow. This provides vendors with current case information so they can confirm and deliver the appropriate surgical trays on time, decreasing case cancellations or delays. UniteOR also makes it easy for vendors to comply with customer policies and procedures, improving customer service.

The joint solution is in its pilot phase with UniteOR’s key base clients and will be available in June 2017.
