Optum cyber security event: Redox connections are secure

February 26, 2024
Matt Mock Senior Director Information Security/CISO

Last week Change Healthcare, part of Optum and United Health Group, was hit with a cyber security event. As a result, systems throughout the Change Healthcare network were shut down to help isolate and contain the incident. Systems are expected to be offline through at least Tuesday, 02/27/2024.

A security event of this scale has widespread impacts. It will likely take weeks for full recovery, but we are encouraged by the level of collaboration we have seen across the industry over the past several days. Hundreds of organizations have leaned in to support one another through the event.

Redox impacts are limited

The security event impacts a small subset of Redox connections. These connections have been taken offline until we receive assurance from Optum that security has been restored. Impacted Redox customers have been contacted directly and we will continue to keep them informed as connections are brought back online.

If you are a Redox customer and have not already heard from us, we will reach out soon to confirm you are not impacted. This incident did not have a wider impact on Redox’s infrastructure. All data and connections are secure. If you have questions please reach out to your Redox Technical Account Manager.
