Overview

Dr. Binghua Zhu, MD PhD, received his Bachelor of Medicine from Hebei Medical University. He later went on to receive a Masters in Medicine at the Tianjin College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where he was an attending physician in cardiovascular medicine. Dr. Zhu received his PhD from the Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine, where he studied in the Chest Disease Research Institute. When Dr. Zhu moved across the Pacific in 1998, he joined the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine as a Post-Doctoral Assistant in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, where he later became a Research Instructor. After five years of doing research, Dr. Zhu was inspired to re-engage with patients as a physician. After successfully passed the USML Board Exams and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Jersey City Medical Center. Since then, he has been a hospitalist at numerous renowned hospitals: Saint Barnabas, Newton Medical Center, and most recently, Lancaster General Health (Penn Medicine). His biggest dream, however, has always been to open his own practice. And thus, the beginning of iCare Internal Medicine! Not only does he get to be his own boss, but Dr. Zhu is also humbled to have the privilege of serving the amazing communities around Springfield. Dr. Zhu is Board Certified and Licensed to practice in the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. When he is not busy at the office or at Lancaster General Hospital, Dr. Zhu enjoys golfing and spending time with his wife, two children and their dog.
