Building the Redox product with DEI in mind

6.4 Billion messages passed through Redox within the last year, more numerous than the grains of sand on any beach – well, if not a large beach, then maybe a small Wisconsin lakeside property. The point is that Redox has the privilege to handle and be trusted with the most sensitive and important personal data there is: mind, heart, and body. As we grow, Redox must create an environment that is inclusive of all people and their personhood, not only in our culture, but in the products we deliver.

At Redox, building a culture of belonging is one of our core values. As a team, we talk about it frequently and adjust our policies and practices to build an environment where every Redoxer can thrive. We also think about how we can extend this practice to our products.

One of our Customer Success Managers noticed this incongruity within the product while working with one of their customers.

This is an example of why values matter. They create a framework for decision making that can help guide our strategies and how we choose to execute in an environment where procedures alone are insufficient.

Starting with DEI Extensions

Extensions are Redox’s way of creating additional customization for customers. Traditionally, this custom work has only been available for customers using our premium product offering. Moving forward, there will be a set of extensions that are available to all users, starting with these new extensions:

This group of cross platform extensions will be labeled as “Foundation”. Over time our Foundation Extensions may grow to include more extensions.

Our ongoing commitment

If you have other suggestions, please let us know where we can do better – especially if they apply to the values we hold ourselves accountable to.
