A quick intro to Redox, the modern API for Healthcare with our Co-founder, Niko Skievaski.

HI! My name is Niko and I’m one of the co-founders of Redox.
We help app developers exchange data with legacy electronic health record systems. The challenge with that is most new applications are built in the cloud, and most EHR systems are on-premise, in the basements of hospitals around the country. Setting up a custom point-to-point connection to each system is time-consuming, expensive, and boring. That’s where we can help.
Redox is a modern API for EHR integration. We’ve created a platform that developers can connect to once, and share data with the EHRs used at the health systems they work with. We take on the work of connecting up to each of these disparate legacy systems and standardize the data into a standard JSON structure. We’ll work with you to understand what data are available and how to build a streamlined workflow based on our knowledge of EHRs and how they’re used.
On the health system side, we minimize the amount of work necessary from their IT team. We simply have them point data at us, and we handle all of the mapping and crosswalking into our consistent JSON model. Our team’s experience with EHR development, configuration and integration brings credibility when we’re working with IT teams. They begin to see us as their connection to any cloud-based applications they use.
We started Redox back in 2014 in Madison, WI. Since then we’ve grown to nearly 30 employees, have raised a couple rounds of investment, and have production integrations with instances of a wide variety of EHRs systems in including Cerner, Epic, eClinicalworks, Nextgen, GE Centricity, and many others. We’re a Salesforce Health Cloud partner, Entrepreneurs in Residence at Cisco, and members of the Commonwell Health Alliance.
